After the wedding pictures started to circulate, Altman texted NBC News to confirm the news. The pair is seen in the photos saying their vows in front of their nearest and dearest friends and family on a breathtaking beach. Wedding pictures were posted on the network by an X user going by the handle @Barsee.
Their first public appearance together
One of Altman and Mulherin’s first public appearances together was at a White House event honoring Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year. Mulherin is an Australian software developer who was previously employed at Meta. The pair stated in a September 2023 interview with New York Magazine that they intended to begin a family soon.
A Year of Ups and Downs for Sam Altman
For OpenAI CEO Altman, 2023 was a busy year. He was abruptly reinstated shortly after being removed from his position as CEO of OpenAI in November. During an interview with Time magazine, Altman reflected on this experience and called it a “rollercoaster.”

Oliver Mulherin: Who is He?
Software developer Mulherin is an Australian native who graduated from the University of Melbourne, according to his LinkedIn page. Mulherin graduated from the University of Melbourne with a bachelor’s degree in computer science in 2014.
Mulherin’s LinkedIn page states that he attended John Monash Science School between 2011 and 2013. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has held software development positions at Meta, Broadwing, SPARK Neuro, and IOTA Foundation.
Despite being married to one of the most powerful people in Silicon Valley, Mulherin keeps a modest profile. He has less than 600 followers on Instagram.
