In Haryana’s Faridabad on August 23, a group of 5 people are said to have trailed a class 12 student in a car before the student was shot and killed on August 23. The five accused who are thought to be crowd vigilantes. They allegedly stated that they thought the youngster was a cattle smuggler. According to the police officials who spoke to the news agency PTI during the accused’s interrogation they stated that on August 23rd they had learned out suspected cow smugglers operating into SUVs and doing reconnaissance in the City.
The crime superintendent of police, Aman Yadav released a statement stating regarding the five suspects. Saurabh, Anil Kaushik Varun Krishna, and Adesh. They were taken into custody on August 28 and held for two days. The suspects stated during interrogation that they were informed on August 23 about possible cow graphical using two SUVs for smuggling in Faridabad.
“Concealed as Criminals”
Assistant commissioner of police for a crime, Aman Yadav, asserted during a news conference on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. He said, The five mistakenly believed Mr Mishra and his companions in the vehicles to be criminals leading to a protracted persued in which they exchanged gunfire. The policeman stated that there was no personal animosity or conspiracy between the accused and the victim and they did not know each other.
They were questioned if the defendants were cow vigilantes who shot at the victim and his companions after believing them to be cattle traffickers. Yadav stated that all their history has been investigated. However, there was currently no proof that they were associated with any such group. The accused’s account of what happened and the cow vigilante notion were being confirmed, he continued.
Were They Actually Cow Vigilantes?
The mother of the primary culprit Anil Kaushik reportedly spoken to by NDTV. Despite the police statement of a meeting to indicate whether or not they were cow vigilantes or the motive behind the crime. The television channel said that they went to Anil Kaushik’s home in Faridabad and chatted with his mother.
“Yes, that night my son was pursuing that car”. He told me he suspected the automobile rider to be a cow smuggler. Additionally, he said that the Duster fired the initial gunshots. And I am not sure whose round struck him (Aryan Mishra). My son is not guilty he serves society and defends cows,” the mother stated to NDTV.
The Incident of Faridabad
Two cars have reportedly been noticed parked in Anil Kaushik’s home compound, according to NDTV. In the first Mahindra Bolero with the words “Gau Raksha Daal”. While in the second, Kaushik’s name and the words “live for the nation” were prominently placed on a cow ambulance.
However, The accused have been placed under arrest after the police remained silent. All of the accused were placed under judicial custody according to the SP Aman Yadav. He also stated that the automobile and illegal weapons used in the crime had been found. The weapons will be sent for forensic investigation and the police are attempting to confirm the accuracy of the statements made by the accused.
