Delhi Elections 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded on Wednesday to Aam Admi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s assertion that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Haryana government is ‘poisoning’ the Yamuna water. PM Modi has remarked that he also consumes Yamuna water. He has questioned whether the Haryana government will poison it in order to “kill the prime minister”.
“Yamuna water is consumed by judges, diplomats, and the poor. How can one believe that Haryana will poison it to kill Modi?” PM Modi, a prominent BJP leader, remarked at the Delhi gathering.
Kejriwal criticizes the BJP for using public funds to benefit the average guy or big corporations.
On Tuesday, Arvind Kejriwal unleashed a scathing attack on the BJP. Casting the impending Delhi elections as a choice between using public funds to benefit the common man and bailing out huge corporations. At a rally in northeast Delhi’s Ghonda seat, Kejriwal accused the ruling BJP of squandering taxpayers’ money by waiving loans worth ₹10 lakh crore for 400 major businesses. He also promised that the AAP would continue to engage in public welfare initiatives.
“This election is about deciding where our public money goes. Whether it should be used for the common people or given away to the big corporates who have benefitted from loan waivers.” He commented.
Are the Yamuna being “poisoned” Delhi Elections of 2025?
On Tuesday, a heated political battle indeed erupted over Arvind Kejriwal’s claim. That the Haryana government is “poisoning” the Yamuna water. With the BJP saying he cannot be forgiven for his “dangerous statement.” The AAP chief declared he would not let the people of Delhi die as a result of the poisonous water.
The AAP and the BJP also petitioned the Election Commission, with the latter attempting to prevent Kejriwal from campaigning. The survey panel wanted verifiable proof from the AAP chief to back up his allegations.
Delhi Elections 2025: A Possible Post-Poll Alliance
While speaking at the gathering in the capital, PM Modi warned against the idea of a post-election partnership between the AAP and the Congress in Delhi. He claimed it would be ‘double AAP-da’. “AAP-da’ thinks of itself as master of Delhi, people will break its arrogance,” PM Modi said at the electoral rally.
