It was later revealed by Mumbai Police that the Video is indeed fake.
The explanation given by a female police officer was her attire, saying. “Itne chote chote kapde kaun pehenke kaun ghumta hai?”. Uorfi, dressed in a red blouse with no back and jeans, was led to the police station. The moment the video went viral, internet users became furious at Uorfi’s detention. She was attacked by some for pulling a practical joke, even going so far as to label it a “promotional stunt.” India Today said that Uorfi Javed was not really taken into custody by Mumbai police.
The actor’s wardrobe choices have caused criticism. According to reports, Urfi was the target of a complaint at the Bandra Police Station last month about her wardrobe choices. Not long later, the actress was sent to the police station.
Urfi Javed Arrested for Demafing Fake Video
According to an official, Mumbai police charged social media influencer Urfi Javed on Friday for using fictitious arrest footage to damage their reputation. After the video of “Urfi Javed being arrested” became viral, Mumbai police posted on social networking site X. Stating, “A viral video of a woman being allegedly arrested by Mumbai Police. In a case of obscenity is not true – insignia & uniform has been misused.”
According to the police, “a criminal case has been registered at Oshiwara Pstn under sections 171, 419, 500. And 34 IPC against those involved in the misleading video.” Police added, “The fake inspector is under arrest and the vehicle has been seized too, while further investigation is ongoing.”
While section 419 addresses personation cheating, section 171 addresses it. “Wearing garb or carrying token used by public servant with fraudulent intent.”
