Oscars 2025 just wrapped up, the culmination of a uniquely wild awards season in which no single film emerged as a reliable front-runner. At least until the Oscars, when Sean Baker’s Anora gradually emerged as the year’s largest film, winning five overall Oscars, four of which went to Baker himself (best picture, director, original screenplay, and editing). The fifth went to unexpected best actress winner Mikey Madison, who beat off Demi Moore and Fernanda Torres.
