Mrs Movie Widely Loved by Women, Slammed by Men

The film ‘Mrs.’ has taken the internet by storm, with Sanya Malhotra and Nishant Dahiya giving stunning performances that have captivated spectators. Sanya excels as Richa, a free-spirited and self-sufficient individual who is also a trained dancer. On the other side, Nishant as Diwakar was a well-known gynaecologist. The film is a masterclass in narrative, with Sanya’s raw and complex performance reaching deep into the viewer’s mind.

However, the movie has received a lot of attention because it depicts women’s hardships as well as cultural expectations around arranged weddings. The Save Indian Family Foundation (SIFF), a prominent men’s rights organization, has now launched an investigation into the video. The foundation accused the film of playing the feminist game. It stated that women’s difficulties are always addressed, however, other vulnerable groups such as children, males, the elderly, and those with physical or mental disabilities who also face abuse and neglect are frequently disregarded in films.

It also questioned the stress that women experience when undertaking home chores. SIFF further stated that males should never share “50% housework, because 70-80% material, cloths, furniture, and gadgets are craved and enjoyed by women”. In response to the essay, a fan of the film remarked, “That’s such a poorly written piece with little to no research Women work at construction sites, stations, airports, factories, courts, police stations, restaurants, and in the army, but they are only “permitted” to work provided they can also manage their households. As a result, aside from job, domestic tasks are an additional burden. Because men in similar roles will come home and desire circular hot rotis.”

A reply stated, “Why are you so threatened by a movie?? They have no real-world influence, correct? That’s what we’re told when we talk about films like Arjun Reddy….art is art, and anyone can make art. So, what is the problem, guys? Also, what is problematic, violent, or controversial about this situation?” A person tweeted: “It is not about doing work! It’s about not letting her do anything she wants! They can’t acquire their own shoes or pants and are adamant about silbattey ki chatni. Not allowing her to use the mixer or the washing machine. Not assisting her, posing obstacles, etc. It is not about work!! She worked quite efficiently.”

Most young performers dream of having a success story like this. Sanya Malhotra–and her older films–are receiving a lot of attention with the success of her latest film, Mrs. While the film premiered on Zee5 last week, people have flocked to Netflix to view her other films. Her films Pagglait and Meenakshi Sundareshwar are presently ranked fourth and fifth on Netflix’s homepage, under the headline ‘Top 10 films in India Today’. Even Mrs. Director Arati Kadav noticed and remarked, “This is so rare. Our film Mrs is affecting Netflix’s rating as people view other films by ⭐️ Sanya Malhotra. I am deeply grateful and feel truly lucky.”

About Mrs

Mrs stars Sanya Malhotra as Richa, an ambitious dancer who enters an arranged marriage and gradually unravels as she becomes trapped in a never-ending cycle of kitchen responsibilities. The film has received recognition for being an excellent rendition of Jeo Baby’s The Great Indian Kitchen. In a recent interview, Arati applauded Sanya for portraying Mrs with great sensitivity, which translated effectively on screen.

“There are no incorrect notes in her performance. She embodied every aspect of that character. By the end of the film, I could tell how much it was affecting her emotionally. It almost felt criminal that I was causing her to experience these emotions.” She took it upon herself to recount the narrative appropriately. “We made it with responsibility and love,” she explained.
