Highlights from the IND vs. BAN Super 4 match, which was played at the same cricket stadium on September 15, are just as compelling even though India and Sri Lanka are already scheduled to meet in the 2023 Asia Cup final there on Sunday.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma decided to field against Bangladesh despite winning the toss. When Bangladesh batted first, their batsmen were unable to match the Indian pacers and quickly lost their wickets. Towhid Hridoy and Shakib Al Hasan did, however, put together a 100-run partnership that enabled Bangladesh to surpass India with a difficult total of 265.
IND vs. BAN Highlights
Under pressure, Bangladeshi captain Shakib struck an incredible 80 runs in 85 balls, and he was assisted by Towhid Hridoy, who smashed 54 runs in 81 balls. Nasum Ahmed (44), a batter, made a contribution as well. After 50 overs, Bangladesh was able to set India a 266-run chase goal. For India, Prasidh Krishna, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja each secured one wicket, while Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur each claimed three wickets. At a run rate of 5.4 RPO, India needed to score 266 runs.
The Bangladeshi bowlers presented challenges to the Indian batsmen from the very beginning of the innings. Tanzim Hasan Sakib quickly caused India to lose their first few wickets. Later, Indian hitters couldn’t run at will thanks to Mustafizur Rahman, Mahedi Hasan, captain Shakib Al Hasan, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Shubman Gill (121) however maintained composure and scored his 5th ODI century. However, when his wicket was lost, India’s hopes of winning the also faded. There was still some chance up until Axar Patel (42) came onto the pitch, but at that point, every ball started to seem like a yorker, which led to wickets for Bangladesh. India could only manage 259 runs at the conclusion of the 49.5th over, losing by 6 runs.
For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman secured three wickets, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mahedi Hasan, and Shakib Al Hasan each secured two wickets, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz secured one wicket.

India’s last-ditch attempt to win the game failed when Shubman Gill was lost. Despite Axar Patel’s best efforts, Mustafizur Rahman terminated him. The Indian hitters gave in to the strain in the last over and lost their wickets.
