After a three-year wait for season 2, which ended on a cliffhanger, fans wondered if they’d have to wait another 2-3 years for the finale. So, say no more! The OTT behemoth may have “accidentally” hinted that the wait will be shorter than anticipated. Or perhaps they simply know how to promote suspense!

After winning six Primetime Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe, Netflix’s most-watched series of 2021, Squid Game, completed its second season on the OTT platform. However, the finale was not what many had hoped for. But, thankfully, the announcement of season 3 was stashed away in the teaser, which was quickly made available.

Both seasons were produced simultaneously. Thus Hwang created a massive 14-episode arc that was split between two seasons. It contributed to the three-year delay. Netflix has recently used a “split a new season of a popular series in half” release schedule. This is usually 4 and 4 or 5 and 5 and around a month apart.
