Canada boosts security for India-bound flights Amid Issues

In recent days that have been increase security precautions for passengers travelling for Canada to India. Anita Anand, Canada’s transport minister sale in a statement released the night after her department. “Has implemented temporary additional security screening measures” for visitors to India out of “an abundance of caution”. Over the weekend, Air Canada notified travellers heading to Indian destination. “Transport Canada has introduced additional requirements for travellers to India and Air Canada, like other carriers, is complying with these,” an Air Canada representative stated in an email statement last week.

“Departing passengers may experience longer than usual wait times at international pre-board screening at Toronto Pearson this evening,” the airport wrote in a post on X. “Please confirm with your airline if you are traveling, and allow enough time to get to your flight.”

India has also accused Canada of harbouring Pro Khalistan individuals on its territory.
