Hyundai Alcazar Facelift

Hyundai Alcazar has officially announced the prices of the new-gen Alcazar facelift with introductory pricing from Rs 14.99 lakh for Petrol-MT 7-seater; Diesel variants start at Rs15.98lakh (both ex-showroom, India). The handsome Alcazar now sports a thoroughly updated look outside and in, with many of the Creta’s new features. Mechanically, though, it is unchanged. The booking amount has been kept at Rs 25,000, with deliveries scheduled later this month.

Most of the cosmetic changes can be witnessed upfront in the new Alcazar. The facelift receives H-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps flanking a light bar and an updated larger grille with horizontal slats. Up front, there is a bigger air intake in the bumper surrounded by silver trim that makes the fascia seem beefier.

The exterior isn’t much updated, but it now boasts 18-inch alloy wheels and useable roof rails. The full-width tail-lamps at the rear appear to have been carried over from the Venue, featuring a large H motif. The silver accents on the bumpers only add to its sporty appeal.

The Alcazar facelift will come in nine exterior color options, eight of which are monotone — Starry Night, Abyss Black, Robust Emerald Pearl White (Fiery Red), Polar White, and Taiga Brown. The last combination you see is new for the Alcazar and shared with Creta in Robust Emerald Pearl.

Interior and Features of Hyundai Alcazar Facelift

The layout of the dashboard on the Alcazar facelift remains identical to that of updated Creta, with dual 10.25-inch infotainment screens and a digital instrument cluster in place. It even gets a new tan and dark blue dual-tone color scheme.

But the more crucial updates apply to the second-row seats. The 6-speaker layout, meanwhile, retains the fixed center console that divided captain seats into earlier generations of Alcazar. In turn, that creates more space between the seats (which now get individual armrests) and better access to the third row from second.

The second-row captain seats, in addition to getting extendable thigh support and ventilation function now come with a ‘boss mode’ that allows occupants at the back-seat to operate front passenger seat remotely towards drive-side thereby creating more legroom. You also receive rear sunshades and tables that fold out.

Perhaps a more substantial update on the safety side is that ADAS features are now standard. Key features on the top-spec trim include a voice-activated panoramic sunroof, power front seats, wireless charging pads for first and second-row occupants (10W), leatherette upholstery with perforation defines & outline stitching design on all seven seats in both rows to go up/down gives easy access to third-row seating Bose premium sound system six airbags electronic stability control along with other connected car technology such as remote unlocking of doors,/vehicle, etc.

 Powertrain, Specs

There are no changes with the engine options; the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel from before remain post-Alcazar facelift transformations. The turbo-petrol, meanwhile, develops 160hp and 253Nm. Torque and is available with a choice between a 6-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch auto. The diesel unit produces 116hp and 250Nm and comes mated to a choice of either a 6MT or a new-age automatic transmission (AT), which is the first in this segment and is also making its debut here. The reason is both are front-wheel drive. These include multiple drive and traction control modes with presets for snow, sand, and mud to match the outgoing model. Also, paddle shifters are available for automatic grades.

The Hyundai Alcazar will be up against the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector Plus.
