Skoda Kushaq Sportline: looks and interiors

Midsize SUV the land to “kill blacked-out cosmetic packages,” and, as expected, Kushaq is only another entrantashing some sweet action. While we have already seen some of these blacked-out trims on the Kushaq Monte Carlo variant, others flesh out for Sportline-exclusive.

Therefore, bits like the blacked-out grille surround, front and rear scuff plates, and ORVMs will be identical to those on the Kushaq Monte Carlo. Exclusive to the Sportline are an extra black door garnish, new 17″ gloss-black alloy wheels, and a ‘Sportline’ badge on the front fender.

Inside, the Kushaq Sportline is finished with a dual-tone black and biege colourway, new fabric upholstery featuring double stripes as well as aluminium pedals. On the features front, it comes with full-LED headlamps, auto wipers and a 10-inch touchscreen type unit among other bits; alongwith a single-pane sunroof as well and gets six airbags. However, it skips some niceties like full-digital driver’s display and no ventilated front seats the top-spec Signature adds.

Skoda Kushaq Sportline: Powertrains, specifications

Mechanically, the Sportline is offered with both 115hp / 178Nm, 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine and a more potent version rated at making150hp/250Nm -of Skoda’s. Larger142PS than that on VW Group models unit from its sister car in Europe (you can check out our Volkswagen Taigun review for all details). The 6-speed manual is exclusive to the old one. However, BMW has done well in offering automatic gearboxes with both engines. Accenting this, the 1.5-liter TSI gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and 6-speed torque. The converter takes care of transmission duty on the other models except when it is only provided by a manual gearbox. It would be a golden cherry on the top from my end as per the current buyer™s preference for land in India!

However, surprisingly enough, Skoda has done away with the 1.5-litre petrol-MT engine. Partly that it was offered previously in a lower state of tune, at least on this new variant. It wasn’t available fully loaded, which could have been one key reason for their decision to continue offering it downstream. It’s not clear what sort. Will any earlier spec engines go under the hood now that Bharat-VI is upon us? Regarding the prices, the Monte Carlo trim-line of both models now sits in a price range starting from Rs 15.90 lakh and going up to Rs 18.60 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively.
